Pathways to Citizenship, a Solana Beach nonprofit, recently announced its partnership with the San Diego County Bar Foundation. This partnership will increase access to legal representation for qualified low-income immigrants and refugees in San Diego County.
The SDC Bar Foundation, whose goal is to provide access to justice for the underserved in San Diego, granted funds to expand Pathways’ legal volunteer program.
“Volunteer attorneys and legal interns expand our capacity to represent eligible immigrant families, including recent refugees from Ukraine, Afghanistan, Russia, Nicaragua and Bangladesh,” says Sonya Williams, Pathways’ executive director in a news release. “We are excited to work with the San Diego County Bar Foundation to equip local attorneys with no prior immigration law experience to assist some of San Diego’s most vulnerable residents.”
Pathways to Citizenship is a nonprofit law center dedicated to helping qualified immigrants from around the world navigate the complex legal and cultural pathways to U.S. citizenship. To learn more, volunteer, or help a neighbor on their path to citizenship, visit pathwaysSD.org.
